The town of Madonna di Campiglio is located just after the Campo Carlo Magno mountain pass, which connects the upper part of Val Rendena to Val di Sole.

It is an important destination point for tourists in the summer, but it is above all a renowned winter resort due to its numerous ski lifts for downhill skiing.
