The town of Madonna di Campiglio is located just after the Campo Carlo Magno mountain pass, which connects the upper part of Val Rendena to Val di Sole.
It is an important destination point for tourists in the summer, but it is above all a renowned winter resort due to its numerous ski lifts for downhill skiing. The famous 3-Tre ski slope ("3 competitions in Trentino) hosts special slalom competitions that are part of the downhill skiing World Cup.
A special guest of Madonna di Campiglio is Michael Schumacher that comes to the resort for his winter vacation.
Tourists that come to Madonna di Campiglio in the summer will find an important part of "continental Europe" golfing history: the Campo Carlo Magno golf club designed by Henry Cotton in 1923. The golf club, which is open from the beginning of July to the end of September, offers visitors an unforgettable landscape with the famous Brenta Dolomites in the background.
During the summer season, Madonna di Campiglio offers the chance to try all sorts of sports: rafting, paragliding, trekking, mountain biking, excursions. Guests can choose from a wide variety of cultural events and sports during both the summer and winter season and between the Adamello-Presanella mountain range to the west of the valley and the Brenta Dolomites to the east.
